The design for the Wave has taken direct inspiration from its coastal location, reflecting many aspects of the environment and lifestyle. While the initial Wave platform bench was developed specifically for a project on Queensland’s Gold Coast, subsequent versions of the design have been installated in a variety of locations. All of these designs utilise CNC machined hardwood timber combined with a HDG mild steel support framing. The Wave bench was the winner of the Furniture Design category in the 2005 Design Institute of Australia Awards.
