Branch Out
Exhibition / 2008
Following on from the success of Spark in 2006, event organisers Surya Graf and Alexander Lotersztain teamed up with Björn Rust and David Shaw to create Branch Out. Limited only by size (H2000mm x W1000mm x W1000mm), twelve top creative studios were invited to create a unique Christmas Tree with no design boundaries. The studios involved were drawn from a pool of Architects, Landscape Architects, Interior and Industrial Designers, Fashion and the Advertising industry. The studios included: Bligh Voller Nield, Brand+Slater Architects, DBI Design, Derlot, Fairweather Proberts Architects, Gamble McKinnon Green, Hassell, Husque, Make, PDT Architects, Pistols at Dawn, and Street+Garden Furniture Company. The Event was held in a converted warehouse in West End’s industrial but rapidly evolving river’s edge precinct. Christmas arrived on a hot summer evening with snow falling on the more 600 guests as the venue came to life in an exciting night of live music, drinks and the main attraction: the installations.
